One person. No company behind it.
I am Michael Fried-Kaplan. I work from München and build websites for small businesses — on my own, and that is deliberate. This page covers how I work, what I say no to, and what happens if I ever stop.
How I work
You write to me. I answer.
- One address.
- No ticket system, no hold queue, no changing contact person. On the second day you write to the same address as on the first.
- Look first, decide after.
- I design your home page before anything costs money. If you do not like it, that is the end of it.
- I build it and I look after it.
- There is nobody I hand your website on to. Whoever built it is the person who maintains it.
- No sales.
- No phone call, no follow-up offer, no reminder two weeks later. If you get in touch, you get in touch.

How it goes

You write to me
A few sentences: what you do, who for, and what your website needs to achieve. That is all I need to start.

I design
Within 3 days there is a real home page for your business, on a private link that Google cannot find.

You decide
If you like it, we talk about price and care. If you do not, you will not hear from me again.

I build it and look after it
The finished site goes live, and after that I keep looking after it — that is the same arrangement, not a second job.
Why the preview costs nothing
Because otherwise I would have to sell you something you have never seen.
A preview costs me a day's work. I would rather spend it than ask you to sign for something that does not exist yet.
For you that means no account, no payment up front, no obligation. And if you say no afterwards, that is an ordinary outcome, not lost business.
What I say no to
Not every enquiry is a job.
- I do not take on work I have no time for. I would rather turn it down than miss a date you have already passed on to someone else.
- I will advise against a new website when it does not solve your problem. Sometimes it is the wrong opening hours on Google, not the design.
- I will not sell you extras you do not need — not even if you ask for them.
Why this stays small
A business run by one person can promise something larger ones cannot: you know in advance who answers. Growing would mean giving up exactly that. So this does not grow — it takes on fewer customers instead.
And if I ever stop?
The fair question to ask anyone working alone, and the one a photograph cannot answer. That is why your website is set up from the start to run without me: the domain, the content and the access are in your name, not mine.
You can move at any time. I will help with the move and hand over everything that belongs to it. That is part of the arrangement, not a dispute.
